Is Counseling Right for Us?
The choice to engage in couples therapy is yours and yours alone.
Some enter therapy from a desire to strengthen their relationship and experience more intimacy. While others seek help because their relationship, once characterized by temporary setbacks, has become strained over time by hurts, betrayals or repetitive cycles of conflict.
The loving bond you and your partner once shared has become weakened and the relationship is no longer a safe haven, where both partners feel engaged and connected. As an EFT therapist, using an attachment perspective, I will help you to discover the cycle, in which you each play a role, that keeps conflict escalated and each partner feeling disconnected and lonely. You will deepen your understanding of one another to rediscover love and patterns of caring so that you can, once again, meet each other’s needs. If separation is absolutely unavoidable, therapy can help ease the transition to a different type of relationship, to a different kind of partnership, if children are involved.
